The Catalyst

It was a regular evening. I got off work and stopped at the local shop to buy a hobby box. I had zero idea what was in store for me this night. 

I sat down with my wife after dinner to rip some packs from that hobby box I bought earlier. Midway through the box, my wife opens a pack and we catch a glimpse of something that looks DIFFERENT.

No. No way. No FREAKING way! It’s a 1 of 1….Padparadscha? From Topps Sapphire? But this was a Chrome box?

It turns out that Topps either made a mistake or did some sneaky marketing in the 2024 F1 set and included the F1 Padparadscha Driver Autographs in Topps Chrome. 

AND WE GOT ONE!

I was able to connect with a reputable consignor to help sell the card and with the proceeds, I was able to begin what is now MyHobbyBoom, the business!

I am absolutely not blind to the insane luck we had in pulling this life changing card. I wish each and every person who loves this hobby gets to experience the excitement of seeing that shiny glimmer of the one chase card you’ve been searching for!
